SANFORD, Fla. – One person was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday morning that forced the closure of Rinehart Road in Sanford.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded around 7:45 a.m. to the area of Rinehart Road and Plantation Lakes Circle.
According to a preliminary FHP crash report, a motorcycle was traveling northbound on Rinehart Road — west of Plantation Lakes Circle — when its rider failed to negotiate a curve. The rider was thrown from the bike as it left the roadway, the report states.
The rider was taken to HCA Lake Monroe Hospital where they were pronounced dead, troopers said.
Rinehart Road was closed from County Road 46A to Towne Center Boulevard and will be for an undisclosed amount of time, the Seminole County Fire Department said on social media.
