ORLANDO, Fla. – Attorneys for suspended Orlando City Commissioner Regina Hill issued subpoenas this week to depose five people connected to her criminal case.
Hill was arrested in March by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
She is accused of exploiting a 96-year-old woman for more than $100,000, using the money to buy herself gifts and insurance, and using the woman’s identity to secure a mortgage on an Orlando home.
Hill has denied the allegations.
Gov. Ron DeSantis suspended Hill from office leading to a heated special election for her seat.
This week, her attorneys subpoenaed several people cited in the FDLE investigation against her.
Those subpoenaed to appear for depositions include:

Rosemary Tobie, the caretaker of the elderly woman

Hill’s son Omari Nembhard

Real estate attorney Alan Sandler

Title company worker Laurie Ann Spencer
All five are scheduled to appear for depositions on Nov. 14.
Hill’s criminal trial is set for Jan. 27, 2025.
