MARION COUNTY, Fla. – An Ocala man faces DUI manslaughter and other charges following his involvement in a crash that killed a Clermont woman and left three others hurt, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 7:40 p.m. Friday on northbound U.S. 441, near SE 92nd Loop in Marion County, troopers said.
According to an FHP crash report, a 54-year-old Ocala man was driving a pickup truck that rear-ended an SUV carrying four occupants. Of those four, the 53-year-old Ocala man driving the SUV suffered minor injuries while two of his passengers — a 60-year-old Ocala woman and a 76-year-old Clermont man — suffered serious injuries in the crash, troopers said.
The third passenger in the SUV, a 72-year-old Clermont woman, suffered fatal injuries, the report states.
The Ocala man behind the wheel of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries in the crash and was booked into the Marion County jail, according to FHP.
